Dave Miller CCIM Scholarship
Established – 10/27/2016 David Miller, CCIM has been in real estate for 42 years, 35 years in Commercial Title Insurance Sales. He was the President of the Central Arizona Chapter of CCIM in 2003 and again in 2015. He is the only person to ever receive the CCIM designation based on his title company experience. He was President of the Arizona Commercial Mortgage Lenders Association (ACMLA) for the 2014-2015 term. Dave has served on numerous boards and committees over the years including First Business Bank, NAIOP, CCIM, ACMLA, ICSC, BIA (CA), NACORE and the Men’s Art Council (Phoenix Art Museum). Tim Hatlestad CCIM Scholarship
Established – 07/01/2008 Tim Hatlestad, CCIM, of Scottsdale, Arizona, was a CCIM instructor, the Institute’s 2008 President, and graduate of the Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy. He was a Broker/Owner with RE/MAX , and served as President of the Arizona Association of REALTORS in 2005. Tim passed away in 2011 and is remembered for his tireless promotion of the designation, as well as service to his chapter and the Institute. SOUTHERN ARIZONA CCIM CHAPTER |
Margaret Larsen Memorial Scholarship Established – 04/18/2023 Margaret Larsen lived an active, interesting, and meaningful life. She married George Larsen in 1989 and they had a daughter Olivia in 1994. George and Margaret worked together in commercial real estate for 33 years and she had her CCIM Designation for almost as long! Margaret’s passion for helping the Tucson community reflected in everything she did. She was honored for her volunteer work by Greater Tucson Leadership. Her most cherished role was with the Angel Charity for children.

HSL Properties, Inc. CCIM Scholarship
Established – 10/13/2022 In 1975 Humberto Lopez co-founded HSL Properties, Inc. a real estate company with diversified assets of approximately $2.5 billion. He has had direct responsibility for the acquisition, capitalization, financing, renovation and marketing of over 30,000 apartment units, over 2,000 hotel rooms, shopping centers, office buildings, industrial buildings, and thousands of acres of land. Mr. Lopez has been an active investor in diverse property types throughout the United States and has handled all phases of real estate ownership.
In 2004 he founded The H.S. Lopez Family Foundation, a non-profit organization, that has contributed over $20 million to date to many nonprofit organizations with an emphasis in health, welfare and education. In 2017 he founded the Center of Opportunity by buying a 301-room hotel on over 8 acres and with over 20,000 sq ft of public space that has been converted to a homeless shelter.

Ryan W. Heinfeld CCIM Memorial Scholarship
Established – 04/16/2020 Ryan Heinfeld was born on January 30, 1988 in Tucson, Arizona to Amy and Gary Heinfeld. He received his degree from the University of Arizona in 2012 and was a graduate of Catalina Foothills High School. Ryan was a successful Realtor, earned his CCIM designation and served as Secretary of the Southern Arizona CCIM Chapter. Ryan had an immeasurably kind spirit, a compassionate heart, and an infectious smile. He lived his life by the values of loyalty, inclusivity, and generosity and made the world better for it. He touched so many lives and will be forever missed by his family and friends. James P. Robertson, Jr. CCIM Scholarship
Established – 10/27/2016 James is the Senior Commercial Associate Broker for Realty Executives International, Tucson, Arizona, USA. He received an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts, a B.S.B.A. Degree in Hospitality Management, and then his MBA. Mr. Robertson then secured his Arizona Real Estate Broker’s License and capped it off with his CCIM Designation. Mr. Robertson’s CCIM experiences include 2014 Chapter President, 2014 Vice Chairman, and 2015 Chairman International Activities Committee and 2016 – 2018 Board of Directors Member. George C. Larsen CCIM Scholarship
Established – 11/15/2007 George Larsen, CCIM, of Tucson, Arizona, is an emeritus senior instructor for CCIM Institute, and has over 35 years experience in the commercial real estate industry. As Co-owner and Broker of Larsen Baker since 1993, he has been responsible for acquisitions, construction, leasing, and management of a commercial property portfolio in excess of 2 million square feet.
